PALIMPSOIL
Oner Brems and Wørld are both writers of a graffiti epic. With Palimpsoil they examine how graffiti functions as medium for the narration of a story which is continuously being rewritten. A palimpsest nowadays is something which has been changed over time and shows evidence of that change. The original definition describes a document which has been written on multiple times. Brems and Wørld conclude that graffiti is a palimpsestic form of painting whose gestures translate both the destructive and creative processes at once, touching the very nature of painting. Painting as an art form has various manners to shape a mythology surrounding the painter. In graffiti the meaning of the name lies primarily in how it's written, but the name Palimpsoil also carries meaning and myth within, in any way it's written. The artists explore how the essential ideas inherent in graffiti can be transmitted through painting in the broadest sense.
